director's commentary

conceptually, this video is based on a dumb idea i had for a german expressionist style silent film where all of the title cards would have been made in Windows Movie Maker.

i had to use a virtual machine to get the XP version to work correctly, but it is indeed what i ended up doing for this video.

the title itself refers both to the actual distance fog that i learned to render for this video, and to the obfuscation of reality that is often symptomatic of isolation.

i tried to inject this video with enough silliness to balance out the self-seriousness of it all. hopefully it worked!
